Vjetroelektrana Ponikve

First wind farm built in Dubrovačko-neretvanska County, on the Pelješac peninsula near the village of Ponikve, Ston. Construction June 2011-October 2012, regular operation from 11 March 2013, officially opened 17 May 2013. 16x Enercon E-70 turbines, 2.3 MW each (36.8 MW total), rotor diameter 70m (single consistent value across all 16 units); hub height is a mixed fleet -- 9 turbines at 64m + 7 at 85m -- so HubHeightM is left NULL here (both heights recorded in TurbineModel instead). Annual production ~65 GWh/yr, supplying ~23,000 households (MonthlyMwh = 65,000/12 = 5,416.67). Investment reported as EUR 43 million (hr.wikipedia.org) vs EUR 46 million (wpd.hr's own project page) -- a real ~7% discrepancy between the two sources kept visible here rather than silently resolved; EUR 43,000,000 (the Wikipedia figure) is used as BuildCostEur. Legal owner-of-record confirmed via the Croatian court/FINA registry: Vjetroelektrana Ponikve d.o.o. (Dubrovnik, OIB 02158940729, founded 13 Sept 2006), 100%-owned ("jedini član") by wpd europe GmbH (Germany) -- this matches the producer name already recorded in this project's own dbo.Hrote table ("VJETROELEKTRANA PONIKVE d.o.o."), confirming that entry is this wpd Group subsidiary, not an independent developer. Site originally selected by Umweltkontor Renewable Energy AG per the same historical note as Trtar-Krtolin/Orlice above. COMMISSIONYEAR UPDATE (2026-07-20): HOPS's official August 2025 monthly wind-generation report lists this plant as "in regular operation since 2012", one year earlier than the 2013 official-opening date sourced from Wikipedia/wpd.hr previously used here. Per user decision, HOPS is treated as authoritative for CommissionYear going forward; the 2013 date (construction completed Oct 2012, official opening ceremony 17 May 2013) is preserved here rather than deleted, since it is itself a real, sourced fact -- just a later milestone than HOPS's own "regular operation" criterion.
